Occasional Use Services

Telesat has facilities available for any type of occasional use requirement - be it a single 15 minute feed, a feed for a few hours or many feeds requiring blocks of time scattered throughout a week, a month or a year. Satellite space segment is available in both the C-band and Ku-Band frequencies over Telesat's fleet of Anik satellites. The satellites that have channels dedicated for occasional use currently are Anik F1 and Anik F2, located at 107.3°W and 111.1°W respectively.

Telesat has also developed arrangements to resell the Company's space segment through other firms. The following companies will be pleased to help you acquire some occasional time on an Anik satellite:

Telesat's teleport network has available earth transmission facilities that are capable of transmitting to and from the Anik satellites and most C-Band U.S. domestic satellites.

Scrambling equipment is also available for business television networks and a back-haul infrastructure is in place throughout Canada for easy access to Telesat uplinks.
